Welcome To Medstead
Welcome to the village of Medstead, situated to the east of Winchester, west of Alton and south-east of Basingstoke in the county of Hampshire, England.
Located on a plateau on the Hampshire Downs between the valleys of the Itchen, to the west, and Meon, to the east, it is one of the highest villages in Hampshire, at over 700 feet (210 metres) above sea level and has a population of around 2,000.
Medstead Community
Medstead has a large number of active interest groups and many regular village events, which help make our village a friendly community, with an active social life.
Our traditional annual Village Fête is held in July on the Village Green and in the
Village Hall, with a parade, stalls, refreshments and entertainment. It raises money for village causes under the auspices of the Fête Committee. A Harvest Supper, organised by
St. Andrew's Church, is held in the Village Hall in September and all residents are welcome.
